ERIN O’CONNOR

http://nmsi.org/OConnor_Erin.aspx

Erin O’Connor joined New Mission Systems International in 2002 after graduating from the University of Evansville with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. She served as NMSI's Director of Video for two years while learning about global missions and investigating opportunities. In early 2004, she deployed to Malawi in Africa, to serve a three-year term working with ongoing NMSI ministries that are doing church planting and church development in the country.

There are 6,912 distinct languages in the world. 438 of them have complete Bibles.

With the New Year (2009) Erin moved to Dallas to begin working on a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics and get additional training from Pioneer Bible Translators, the aptly named missions organization that she is working with. Once her training is complete, she will deploy to one of the Bible-less people groups of the world to help translate the word of God into an accessible, meaningful form.

JENNI SNYDER

http://nmsi.org/Jenni.aspx

Jenni has been involved in missions mobilization since graduating from Ozark Christian College in 2001. Upon graduation, she served NMSI in the Short Term Department acting as the Director of a youth missions program called 'Go! Global'. In August 2005, she returned to Ozark Christian College, to work as the Administrative Assistant in the Missions Department. During her time there, she connected with an organization called Rapha House.

The US State Department estimates that one million children are exploited each year in the global commercial sex trade. This problem is especially prevalent in Cambodia, where it is common for girls between 4 and 18 years of age to be sold as sex slaves. Rapha House is a safe home for young girls rescued out of sex trafficking and is located in Cambodia. After reading up on the issue and leading two summer internships there, Jenni had come to the point of no return in her understanding of the issue and the biblical response to it. She has chosen, as an act of obedience and love for Christ, to pursue ministry in Cambodia.

The Kingdom of Cambodia officially recognizes RAPHA HOUSE as a Non-Government Organization sanctioned to rescue "girls at risk". While at Rapha House the girls receive an education that will enable them to rebuild their lives.

RAPHA is the Hebrew for word "healing" and serves as a safe house for girls who have been rescued from forced prostitution and slavery. All but the two youngest, ages six and eight, have become Christians. Rapha House thanks all who made this a reality.

TRES AND SUSAN CRONE

http://nmsi.org/Crone_Tres_Susan.aspx

Tres and Susan met for the first time as single missionaries in Kenya, Africa in 1991. The Crones moved to Florida in 1996 when Susan became the Children's Minister at First Christian Church of Fort Myers. From there, it was a natural progression to get involved with various activities with NMSI. When they learned about the needs of AfricaHope Kenya, the Crones knew God was calling them back to the mission field.

Tres is involved in Africa, church planting, leadership training, teaching in Bible colleges, and community development projects.

Susan homeschools their three children. She is also involved in camps for AIDS orphans, which occur three months each year, and village camps.

Lake Auora Christian Camp

http://www.lakeaurora.org

Lake Aurora Christian Camp & Retreat Center is an extension of the Christian church dedicated to providing meaningful programs in a beautiful outdoor setting. Established in 1947, the Lake Aurora campus has grown from 20 to 73 acres. Designed originally as a youth summer camp, the programs now operate year around, serving young people through senior adults. It is a place where youth, adults and families can take time to enrich their personal relationship with Christ, fellowship with each other and prepare for service while discovering God's will for their lives. Lake Aurora Christian Assembly, Inc. is owned and operated by independent congregations of the Christian church/Church of Christ in central Florida. Our core belief hinges on two principles: 1) the Bible is the only inspired Word of God, 2) Jesus alone is both Lord and Christ. He really lived, He died for our sins, He was raised from the dead, and He is one with God.

Family Ministries of Florida

http://www.familyministriesfl.org/framespage.htm

Since 1976 Family Ministries of Florida, just north of Tampa, has provided a safe family environment for children who for one reason or another cannot live with their parents. Christian couples serve as House parents. The House parents provide nurturing and structure for the boys and girls that live in their homes. The family has a daily devotion time together, and each child is encouraged to have their own personal devotion time. Along with individual and group devotions the families are very involved with our local church. The children are also involved with many different activities at the church including Sunday school, youth group, drama team, youth choir, and Bible Bowl.

Family Ministries of Florida uses three different education paths. First, Legacy Christian Academy is located on the campus of Family Ministries of Florida. Legacy Christian Academy offers a unique individually paced program designed around the needs and educational level of the child. Second, a private Christian school for those children that need more of a traditional learning environment. Third, the local public elementary school for those children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Family Ministries recognizes that every child learns differently and has different educational needs, and it is the goal of Family Ministries to provide the best educational opportunity for each child.

Several years ago, Family Ministries developed a philosophy of Work Hard, Play Hard and Pray Hard. Work Hard includes such things as keeping their rooms clean and organized, daily chores in the home, and outside work such as mowing and pulling weeds. We find that working helps the child reflect on their daily lives and gives them the opportunity to learn responsibility and how to take pride in their accomplishments. Play Hard includes such things as playing games as a family, playing outside as a group, and some of the children play organized sports either at school or with a local club. Pray Hard includes individual devotions, family devotions, involvement in church, and developing a personal relationship with God.

Sonlight Academy

http://www.sonlightministries.org

Roger and Norma Alexander felt a call to help in Haiti in the 1983. They moved to Port-de-Paix with a goal of teaching and training church leaders. They soon realized in order to reach the people of Haiti before they became completely devoted to Voodoo, it would be necessary to begin instruction at a younger age. Thus was born the idea for a Christian school. With a start of a handful of preschoolers and then adding a grade each year Sonlight is now preschool through 12 with about 350 students and a Bible College with about 50 students. New Day Christian Church sends a group every January to Sonlight to help with the mission.
